About artist: I am a visual artist and educator holding a BA fine Art, an MA in Culture Studies (IADT) and a PhD in Education (NCAD). My work almost always begins with drawing and is a response to my suroundings, relationships and everyday encounters. I work from photos, memory, and observation, moving intuitively between figuration and abstraction. Selected group exhibitions include RUA, RHA, The Courthouse Gallery, Halftone, Library Project, Ranelagh Arts, Impressions Biennale Galway, Hamilton Gallery (Europe in the Heart of Ireland) and many others. My work is also held in public and private collections nationally and internationally. I have received several Arts Council Awards and EAEA Grundvig Travel & Training Awards for Adult Educators (Art Education).
