About artist: Tadhg Ó Ciardha is a queer Irish artist whose work predominantly deals with themes of queer heritage and the history of mental health in Ireland. Tadhg currently primarily works in drawing and watercolour. Many of the artist's works explore queer and trans bodies and masculinities through a pastiche of historical aesthetics. He has participated in the Arthouse Auction each year since its inception in 2020. Tadhg has a BA degree in folklore and drama, and during his time at UCD, he studied drawing with the RHA and UCD Parity Studios. He is currently an MA student in Design History and Material Culture at NCAD. In 2019, he received an Art Factory development grant from the Complex Dublin with Comorbid Productions. He is a member of the Aerach Aiteach Gaelach collective, creating artwork for their 2021 Fringe Show, "Idir Mise agus Craiceann do Chluaise." Tadhg's artwork has been used in publications and promotional material for Arlen House, An Fócloir Aiteach and Clare Sands.
