About artist: Anthony Carey is a Dublin-based Irish artist whose paintings are about creating spaces for empathy and healing. Carey's art makes personal and impactful connection with the viewer without the need for exegesis. Carey believes art is a sanctuary, a gentle reminder that,“Yes, we are here. We exist, We have purpose, and we are safe.” The loss of loved ones who brought joy into his life left Carey deeply affected, leading to feelings of isolation, 'floating', and grief. His art reflects these emotions, helping him connect his past with his present and tethering the artist to reality. Drawing from a rich tapestry of influences, including luminaries like Jackson Pollock, Leonora Carrington, Roderic O'Connor, and Jack Yeats, Carey's work transcends boundaries and 'isms,' forging its own unique path in the art world. Recognized with an award at The Chianciano Biennale in 2022, Carey's artistic journey has taken him across the globe, exhibiting his work in private collections worldwide.
