About artist: Tomasz Knapik is a visual artist from Wroclaw, Poland where he studied printmaking and graphic design at Eugeniusz Geppert Academy of Art and Design. He is a member of Black Church Print Studio since 2008. His work has been exhibited internationally in China, Czech Republic, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Taiwan, UK and USA.
About artwork: Rebound etching is unique. It is the result of layering three plates. By leaving some residue ink on the polished stainless steel, I’ve allowed traces of past movements to remain, creating a sense of imperfection and rawness. The layering, combined with this residue, captures a moment that feels both transient and permanent. The figures, etched in rhythmic marks, seem both connected and separate, emerging and dissolving as if caught in transition. Each line feels like a trace of a journey a record of presence and absence.
