About artist: Helena Gorey graduated from Limerick School of Art and Design in 1982. She has exhibited widely, most recently in Matters of the Heart, 2023 at Taste Contemporary, Geneva with sculptor Deirdre McLoughlin and in solo exhibitions at Highlanes Gallery Drogheda, The Ashford Gallery Dublin, Butler Gallery Kilkenny, The Dock Leitrim, Limerick City Gallery of Art, Kevin Kavanagh Gallery and Temple Bar Gallery, Dublin. She has curated exhibitions during Kilkenny Arts Festival including In Memoriam 2005 and The Overhanging Garden 2021. She has exhibited in numerous group exhibitions in Ireland and internationally, most recently in shows curated by Mark St. John Ellis for Farmleigh Gallery and Rathfarnham Castle Dublin. She has received painting awards from Visual /Carlow Arts Festival, Highlanes Gallery, Iontas and Monaghan Open and early in her career won the George Campbell Memorial Award from The Arts Council for a period of travel in Spain. Public collections include The Irish Museum of Modern Art, The Arts Council, The Glebe Gallery, The Office of Public Work, Contemporary Irish Art Society, National Self Portrait Collection, The Butler Gallery, Highlanes Gallery, Limerick City Gallery of Art
