Description:: Alanna Blake is an emerging Irish artist who ‌creates figurative works ‌that express atmosphere and vitality through the use of bold and vibrant colours. Painting intuitively in rapid sessions to capture spontaneity and ripeness, her works contain figures from various aspects of art history and personal evocations. Her latest series aims to strike a balance between instinctive and concept-led painting, connecting compositional and expressive efficiency with an original interpretation of threshold of consciousness.

Graduating from NCAD in 2016 with a BA in Fine Art Painting, and from the Glasgow School of Art with an MLitt in painting in 2020, Blake now lives in Dublin. She has exhibited in group shows in Dublin, Leipzig, Brighton, Poznan, and Glasgow and has undertaken a number of international residencies.
