Based at the foot of the Dublin mountains, surrounded by forestry, Christina draws her inspiration from organic fractal patterns in nature. She is particularly fascinated with repeating concentric circle patterns. Her other sources of inspiration include Mandala art from Buddhist and Hindu tradition, as well as Aboriginal art.

Christina is attracted to bright and vibrant colour pallets on a dark background. She uses dots to create circles or ‘mandalas’ (from the Sanskrit word meaning circle). The centre circle of a mandala can be used as a focus point in meditation.

This painting contains many overlapping circles. Each dot is consciously placed with great care and attention as a mindful and spiritual practice.
