Róisín O’Sullivan achieved an MA in Fine Art at Central Saint Martins, University of the Arts London (2015) and a BA in Fine Art at CCAM, GMIT in Galway, Ireland (2011). O’Sullivan’s work stems from her own experience of nature but slips into abstraction through intuition and mark-making within the studio process. O’Sullivan has recently begun the prestigious twelve month Tony O’Malley residency in Ireland, administered by the Royal Hibernian Academy.
In 2020, O’Sullivan participated in residencies at PADA Art Residency (Portugal), Cill Rialaig Artists’ Retreat (Kerry), Tyrone Guthrie Centre (Monaghan), Ballinglen Arts Foundation (Mayo) and The Cabin at Road Books (Cork). In February 2020, she opened her fifth solo exhibition at University College Cork, Ireland.
O’Sullivan has exhibited in solo and group exhibitions throughout Ireland and the United Kingdom and has more recently participated in online exhibitions organised in Portugal and the United States. In 2022, the artist will have a solo exhibition at Triskel Arts Centre in Cork, Ireland.
O’Sullivan’s work is held in both private and public collections, including the Office of Public Works, Ireland.
