Description:: I have always had a great love for Art/Design having worked in the Visual Display Design field for many years . I have maintained a particular love for Abstract Art. I am a keen photographer & enjoy continuing my love of creating through silversmithing & Jewellery design . All these facets of Art have greatly encouraged my painting style to evolve over the years bringing a conscious awareness of shape , colour & form . About my painting : " RESTLESS PAVEMENTS " My Urban landscape abstraction is part of a series of works called " Urban Visions " . Smokey concrete tones are signiture to all of my works ,providing a neutral background for the vibrant rusted colour & pops of ochre which takes on architectural Cityscape representation! Black/whites are a hard contrast & symbolises graffiti clad walls .As the crossing of hard directional lines passing through is the deconstruction of our cities through the obstructiveness caused by cranes & building construction industry . This painting is heavily textured ,using sumptuous heavy paint creating depths of interest! The revealing layers of underpainting provide contrast & lend to this theme of almost Urban decay .
