About artist: Hallahan’s practice is primarily based in painting, taking formalistic ideas from within the history of painting, adding his own interpretations and ideas and bringing them into today’s world. His interests focus in on how we as humans engage and interact with nature beyond ourselves, this relationship he feels defines how we then interact with each other in our constructed society. Abstraction is a base of his imagery, but it has always been derived from source material based in the real world.
