Description
About artist: Denise Kehoe is an Irish artist based in Utrecht. She is a graduate of Fine Art from the Crawford College of Art and Design. She also holds an MA (Distinction) in Book Arts from the Cambridge School of Art. She was the recipient of the Seed Fund from the Butler gallery Kilkenny and awarded a commission from Extuin Utrecht. She is the founder of Motion Sickness Project Space, Cambridge. She received an Agility Award from the Irish arts council in 2021 and 2022.
About artwork: Sounds from the library is a document of a performance where the artist sat in the library and documented the sounds around them. It interrogates the difficulty of focusing when our attention is constantly divided in our media saturated landscape. The work playfully amplifies the ignored aspects of our everyday.
