About artist: I am an Irish artist based in Milan, Italy. In recent years my main concentration has been on abstract portraits, usually women, however many of my portraits are purposefully ambiguous. The importance of each piece is to tell a story, express layered emotions and connect with the observer. I enjoy using all forms of media on a variety of supports. I am an intuitive artist and self taught. The piece I have selected for this auction is particularly dear to me and I hope it resonates with viewers.
About artwork: This is a mixed media painting done on canvas panel. I wanted to deconstruct the female form while highlighting and maintaining its beauty. I was inspired by the world we live in that sometimes is so full of hate that kindness is seen as a weakness. I say, let me be weak! The portrait speaks directly to the observer, determined and headstrong.
