About artist: Emanuele is an Italian nomad artist with Spanish soul and a shady past in an Irish gaff. He has been an independent artist working in print and visual and street arts for over 15 years. Emanuele is interested in sharing original work inspired by the people that only passed through Ireland in crowded shared accommodation. People that now changed their lives or are no longer with us, but through his work remind us of our past, our forgotten legacy, our nomad life.
About artwork: The Clonmore Gaff Party poster. For the houses no longer with us. Melz celebrates an impossible party with a Surreal Poster for an event that cannot happen. In the name of the countless open doors, BYO anything, 72 hours parties, typical of the Clonmore Rd house. This house bonded together the lives of many flatmates over 15 years. It was a home to countless artists, workers, friends, couch surfers, students and nomads. Every detail has a history behind it, and is either a faithful or surreal recreation of real life events. Is it a political piece on the housing crisis in Ireland? Or a love letter to all the Dublin places that felt like home and are now gone? Maybe you've been there too. This work is presented by Rather Gather Arts Collective. Our aim is to change the conversation about art from competition to collaboration and to create healthy creative networks where Artists and Arts lovers affected by histories of migration can collaborate.
