Description
About artist: Ria Czerniak-LeBov is an artist, writer and assistant lecturer at NCAD. She has been a member of Graphic Studio Dublin since receiving their Graduate Award in 2016. Working predominantly in etching and aquatint, Ria’s practice explores the relationship between analogue and digital technologies, the built environment and the subjectivity of memory. Her prints have been shown at RHA, RUA, ImPRESSions Biennale, National Botanic Gardens and SO Fine Art Editions and are included in several permanent collections including Trinity College Dublin and OPW.
About artwork: Sundown is a portrait of the Burton building (aka gay Spar) on the corner of Dame St and George's Street in Dublin. This iconic Art Deco building has a wonderfully rich history as part of the city's early fashion district and I cannot be happier at its surprising transition to its more recent status as an LGBTQ+ space.
