About artist: Carmel Marrinan a former gallerist and Designer is now a full time artist . In her practice Carmel seems to recall the pictorial tendencies of the expressionists and Fauves from the artistic movements of the first half of the 20th century . Bold brushstrokes and bright intense colours put the interority and emotions to the foreground. Inspiration has been found from her travels in particular Italy and West Cork where she spends much of her time . Carmel works both in her studio in Dublin and West Cork and is currently enjoying great success with with her paintings in collections in Ireland , London and Europe .
