About artist: Dáire Mc Evoy (b.1993) is a Dublin based- Visual Artist & Gallery Technician working in painting, photography and installation. He holds a BA from IADT in Visual art practice (2017). Using his photography and Journal to capture and document urban life as a visual language, he integrates the aesthetics and concepts of graffiti to his expanded paint practice. His work is generally portrayed in strong, bold, and bright colours with fun whimsical titles. Prior to attending college he was involved in community based workshops in the Highlanes gallery and Nexus arts in Drogheda. All through college he organised exhibitions every summer and was the head of the art hanging society. He has shown works at Electric picnic on three separate years. He has been involved in the Dublin art scene since leaving college by volunteering at pallas projects/studio for a short while until becoming their gallery technician up until going independent. He has worked with such galleries as The Rha, The Kerlin, The Douglas Hyde, The Butler gallery, and PhotoIreland festival. In 2021 he co-created 'Deliverables' with Ellen O'Connor, which ran as a online critique group with the initial intention of an online exhibition which then with funding became a physical space exhibition.
