About artist: Catherine Ryan makes detailed vibrant paintings using objects collected from daily life. Her artwork evolved from a fusion of influences including a background in glass design, a lifelong passion for colour and an interest in street art and the readymade. Cities and their organised chaos is the main inspiration for the work. Many pieces are like an aerial view of a city. Catherine has exhibited widely in Ireland including the RHA annual exhibition, RUA RED, Limerick City Gallery of Art and in group shows in the UK, France and the USA. She is represented by The Copperhouse Gallery in Dublin.
