About artist: Laura is a visual artist working in drawing, painting, installation, video, text and audio. She is graduate of both the National College of Art & Design, Dublin and Royal College of Art, London. She is a recipient of the Visual Arts Bursary Award (Arts Council of Ireland) for 2024 and received the Golden Fleece award in 2020. Recent exhibitions include: Strange Weather, 2024 at Ormston House, Limerick, Ireland, curated and produced by Niamh Brown. OTHER WORLDS, including Louis le Brocquy, Christine Mackey, William McKeown, Maria McKinney, Miriam O’Connor, Nigel Rolfe et al curated by Daniel Nelis, at the Regional Cultural Centre Letterkenny 2023 and This Rural, including Ailbhe Ní Bhriain, Ruby Wallis, Caoimhe Kilfeather et all curated by Miriam O’Connor and Paul McAree, at Lismore Castle Arts, 2023. Laura has completed residencies at the Institute for Studio & Curatorial Studios (ISCP), New York; Fire Station Artists’ Studios, Dublin; the Irish Museum of Modern Art, Dublin, and more recently at the Bemis Center for Contemporary Arts, in Omaha, Nebraska, USA in 2023. Her writings have been published by Paper Visual Art (PVA) Journal, Bog Bodies Press and Onomatopee (NL). She teaches art part-time at the National College of Art & Design, Dublin and TUS, Limerick School of Art & Design and is currently a board director for EVA International. She is working towards a group show at the RHA Gallery, Dublin, and a solo exhibition in Lismore Castle Arts, Waterford in 2025.
