About artist: Gráinne Nagle is a multidisciplinary artist who likes to work across a variety of mediums, but her primary area of focus is collage and exploring the creative potential within it. Having studied fine art & graphic design respectively, both disciplines have become profoundly informative to her work. She has exhibited both in Ireland and abroad, and her work can be found within private & public collections. She currently lives and works in Co. Cork, Ireland.
About artwork: I like to think of this particular piece as a 'Bazaar' of materials, pattern & shapes. It has been constructed with painted cardboard, screen printed paper, various papers & card. Some pieces are layered on top of each other to create volume, creating an added dimension. There is a simplicity and complexity to it at the same time, which I enjoy trying to achieve in my work.
