About artist: Hi, my name is Clodagh. I’m a self-taught artist who grew up in Wexford but spent most of my adulthood in Dublin. I’m finding my confidence in painting- this is big for me to submit a painting for others to see and dare I say, to judge. I love the human body, it all of its forms. I love to capture vulnerability, touch, warmth and distance. It’s all there disguised behind our different shapes and edges. I live a busy life- I’ve a job in tech and work hard to build a life in this beautiful but expensive city. Art for me has always been both how I hide myself and how I permit myself to be seen. Cliche has it sounds, I am inspired by the colours of nature and you will always find the colours of the seasons in my works. I love the moment natural light hits my paintings for the first time.
About artwork: “Bind” to me represents that moment where two bodies become so intwined that they are indistinguishable from the other.
